Notes Dressed in our Birthday Best
Today marks the 125th anniversary of The Daily Collegian, but today’s issue is almost unrecognizable to our modern-day readers. Designed to resemble the Collegian as it looked in the 1920s, today’s retro look symbolizes just how much the publication has evolved and grown over the years.
In today’s guest column, editor-in-chief Lexi Belculfine (senior-print journalism) says she looks forward to continuing the paper’s tradition of being Penn State’s most trusted news source.
“For the next 125 years, the Collegian will constantly change, adapt, and hopefully surpass standards, because this is the best way we can serve you, our readers,” Belculfine writes.
Our award-winning daily newspaper has come far since its original run as The Free Lance in 1887, but our core journalistic and business values have withstood the test of time. So cheers to looking so good at 125, and even better in the years to come!
